How someone can be cured by maditation??there is no hard answer .most practitioners say it works because it transports both the body and the mind into a uniquely unified state.In maditation you feel sence of peace and inner freedom.
there are number of different meditation techniques.some focus on the breath ,requiring you to simply observe yourself breathing in and out other use a sacred word or phrse that is repeated over and over again.The goal is same :to focus your attention away from the thoughts whirling around inside your head.the repetition of montera or breath helps calm the mind .
How to Meditate
Find a place where you can sit without interruption for 20 minutes.
sit comfortably keep your back erect.
close your eyes and bring your attention to your breathing.focus on the movement of your diaphragm as you inhale and exhale.
As you settle into this quiet breathing ,you can silently repeat your mantra or any word you wish .You can use the traditional sanskrit words "om namah shivaya"
when your mind begins to wander,as it inevitably will,just gently returns your focus to your breath or mantra.This pattern of wandering and returning is the beginning of teaching your mind to let go of its worries.
after some time ,notice how peaceful you feel
open your eyes and stretch.
chose a regular time and place to meditate.Start by meditating for 20 min three times a week .stay with it.
